5 Minutes with D-Rashid

Ok, lets get the basics out of the way. Full name? Where are you from? Where are you now? Age?
Rashid Sahib, I was born in Amstelveen in Holland but my parents are from Marocco. My age is a secret .

When did you start Dj’ing, what/who inspired you to start?
I started dj-ing when i was 17. I have 2 people who inspired me the American producer Kenny dope Gonzales, he made sick Latinhouse beats. My big brother Mo, he wasn’t a dj but learned me the crafts of dj-ing, and let me play in his cafe that was based in Amsterdam.

How is your day going?
In the morning I start by checkin’ my mail and starting to produce house tracks, after a day of studio time, I go to the gym to keep my body & mind in shape!

When you’re in the studio do you work with logic or Nuendo?
I use Ableton live, its amazing how you can make massive tracks in a short time.

Where do you get your inspirations?
I listen to Arrow Jazz fm and oldskool boss nova tracks like Astrud Gilberto.

You’re pretty active on twitter, do you use it mostly to communicate with fans or with other dj’ s? What’s the biggest benefit Twitter has given you?

Its amazing how fast twitter works, you can update your fans instant.
What are your plans for 2012?
2 releases. Ballade village & Rumble in the jungle. Those Latin tracks are potential floor filler and off course LatinVillage festival 1 july, it going to amazing!

Tell us more about your Birthday Bash @ Salsa Lounge 30 October?
I am so excited about it. I am going to do a 5 hrs dj set. At 00.00 my B –Day starts!

What would you like to say to all your fans out there?
I see you the 30th of October @ my birthday bash @ SalsaLounge!
